Adjust Brightness/Contrast/Gamma
Fine-tune image lighting and contrast
Overview
The Adjust BCG node provides three controls for image brightness: Brightness (overall lightness), Contrast (difference between light and dark), and Gamma (midtone adjustment). Use it to correct exposure or create stylized looks.
Usage Tips
- Brightness: Positive values lighten, negative values darken
- Contrast: Positive increases punch, negative flattens the image
- Gamma: Values <1 brighten midtones, >1 darken midtones
- Start with small adjustments (-0.2 to 0.2) for natural corrections
Common Pairings
- Import from URL - Correct exposure on imported images
- Adjust HSV - Combine with color adjustments for full control
- Merge - Match brightness between layers before blending
Gotchas
- Extreme values clip highlights/shadows permanently
- Gamma affects midtones most - use brightness for overall shift
- Values at 0 (brightness/contrast) or 1 (gamma) = no change
